Sow & Piglets Production Brewery - Cooriemungle, VIC
It quickly came apparent that the brewing capacity in Port Campbell needed to increase. After looking at all options at the current site, it was decided to lease facilities on a decommissioned winery. Julian did the specification for the new brewery and searched for a suitable manufacturing company in China. The brewery arrived a 40ft and 20ft container and then Julian set up the jigsaw puzzle. With the help of a dedicated group of local trades people, the brewery was completed and in production within two weeks. This build was far more complex than our original brewery as it included such items as a Siemens control panel, steam boiler and associated equipment. Again this equipment was installed by local trades people.
Packaged product was high on the agenda and initially, a contract canning company was used. Giving the remoteness of our location we decided to invest in a Cask maCs canning line and a state-of-the-art labeling machine from Matthews. This configuration has proved to be a real winner as it has allowed personalised small runs for such events as weddings, end-of-year functions and sporting organisations.
